After too many failures from other manufacturers pulleys due to poor design and substandard materials, AWT embarked on a project to design a pulley which will withstand more abuse than any pulley on the market. AWT vernier pulleys concentrate on strength above reduced weight as when balanced and spinning half crank speed, it is not a major issue. Made from aerospace grade 6061 and heat treated to T6, then treated to a hard anodic film of considerable thickness on the ring, and dyed anodic film on the centres, this increases the durability and hardness of the pulley. Much larger M6 12.9 grade bolts are used as I have seen these fail too many times as well. Pulleys for all engines follow the same design.
The design also incorporates a 5 point keyway adjustment allowing for 1 deg advancement at the centre, allowing for larger range of adjustment.

I had these pulleys fitted due to my previous ones (which were made by a well known manufacturer) failing, causing extensive damage to my recently built engine. I didnt want any further issues with reliability, and have full confidence with the AWT pulleys.
